Abundant Life Health Centre offers the following treatments:
ChiroALHC

Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Chiropractic adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement delivered by the chiropractor placing his or her hand to a joint and applying a quick and controlled movement to restore functional range to the joint. When the joint is restored, the release of gas often causes a popping sound, similar to opening a can of pop and is completely natural. Chiropractic adjustment can remedy the common stiff neck or a severely thrown out back, and not only limited to the spine, chiropractors are meticulously trained to treat all parts of the body, including any muscle, bone or joint pain a patient may be facing – head to toe.
ALHCPhysio

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a physical rehabilitation discipline that focuses on restoring movement and physical function through the prevention, treatment, and management of injuries and other conditions affecting movement. Physiotherapists are trained to identify the cause of these issues and develop a plan to address it. Physiotherapy can help you achieve your goals, like returning to a sport, getting through a work day more comfortably, being able to walk for longer distances, or playing with the grandkids. Physiotherapy treatment in a clinic context may include specific advice relevant to your situation, hands-on techniques to aid tight joints and muscles, electro-therapy/ultrasound treatment and a customized exercise program to improve flexibility, strength, endurance and balance.
ALHCNaturopathicMedicine

Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the natural healing ability of the body and treat the underlying cause of disease or recurring ailments. Symptoms of disease and recurring ailments are seen as warning signals of improper functioning of the body, and unfavourable lifestyle habits. Nautorpathic medicine aims to address these issues and improve an individual’s lifestyle by combining conventional and naturopathic treatments with the aim of minimizing or avoiding the side effects to drugs, surgery or other treatments.
ALHCMassageTherapy

Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage Therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many acute or chronic pain conditions. Our massage therapy services are provided only by Registered Massage Therapists – practitioners who have completed education at an accredited school of massage therapy and passed examinations to ensure competencies necessary to safely and effectively provide massage therapy services.
OrthotALHC

Custom Orthotics
Orthotics are external devices added to walking apparel, often in the form of insoles, to modify the functional characteristics of the body while using the legs. Orthotics are commonly utilized to correct conditions, such as fallen arches or improper strike angle (gait) which causes pain from prolonged standing or use of the legs. But just as each person has a unique fingerprint, feet vary from person to person – Not only in foot length or width, but the height of the arches or gait can vary even between an individual’s two feet. Custom orthotics are designed to fit each foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. Correcting foot positioning through use of custom orthotics also aids in aligning the pelvis and back, which are also often impaired due to lack of proper orthotics.

AcuALHC

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a painless therapeutic technique that is used to treat specific health dysfunctions such as muscle pain, headaches, functional problems or even stress-related disorders. Contemporary acupuncture is an evidence-based practice which focuses on the anatomy and physiology of the body. It is a combination of using fine solid needles and electrical stimulation to activate the nervous system and modulate pain. Acupuncture is commonly used as a supplementary addition to the patient’s treatment plan to accelerate the recovery process. Dr. Tammy Yuen received her acupuncture training from the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program.
ElectroALHC

Electro-therapy
Electro-therapy is the use of an electrical stimulation device for the treatment of injuries. Through the use of contact pads, electric current passes through the affected area to help reduce pain, relax soft tissue and promote accelerated recovery. Abundant Life Health Centre offers various modalities, such as Interferential Current (IFC), Electro-Muscle Stimulation (EMS) and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), each specialized to treat varying injuries, to ensure we have the right treatment for our patients.
RehabALHC

Physical Rehabilitation
Physical rehabilitation includes manual therapy, education and specific exercises to promote the recovery of injuries. Rehabilitative exercises are specifically designed to help patients maintain and preserve the benefits achieved from other forms of treatment. At Abundant Life Health Centre, we believe that “motion is lotion” and appropriate treatment combined with regular proper exercise will quickly restore functional movement and enable you to enjoy painless daily living.
Kinesio tex tape therapy

Kinesiology Taping
Used by countless professional athletes, kinesiology taping is the use of specialized flexible tape applied over specific paths of the body for treating athletic injuries and a variety of conditions. The elasticity and the firmness of the tape ensures proper movement and tracking of the treated joint, allowing patients to still perform daily activities while injured, and also without causing further damage to the body.
