Update from May 30, 2020
Abundant Life Health Centre has chosen to remain closed at this time and will re-assess on a regular basis in the coming weeks.
While the Ontario government has permitted health care providers to re-open their business as long as certain safety measures have been implemented, we feel that these are broad-stroke permissions that do not take into consideration the regional-specific risks and concerns of the GTA.
We continue to prepare for a re-opening by acquiring PPE and developing policies/practices to implement once we re-open in the near future.
It is with great difficulty that we have made this decision and have done so to aid the process of a full recovery from this pandemic. Being closed for the past 2+ months has been extremely challenging to us from a financial perspective and we are eager to go back to providing care to our patients. Update from Mar 25 2020:
Abundant Life Health Centre will be closing from Tuesday, March 17th until further notice. We are contacting patients with appointments one week in advance as the clinic closure continues to inform directly of cancelled appointments.
The staff at Abundant Life have been closely monitoring the progression of Covid-19 in Ontario and since the outset, have adopted recommended practices from the government and public health authorities to ensure the health and safety of our staff and patients.
It has now been recommended to employ more extreme measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Canada. Non-Emergency health care is recommended to be suspended. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Abundant Life Health Centre and cease treatments for a period of at least two weeks.
While we are planning for a two week closure, we will be monitoring the situation and advice of the government throughout this time and the closure will continue until otherwise recommended by the government for the safety of our patients, their families, and the greater population as a whole.
We will provide the most up-to-date information regarding the clinic closure and timeline for re-opening on our website through this article (the latest update will be time-stamped at the top of the article)
There is no need to re-schedule your appointment. If the closure is extended beyond the original planned closure and impacts an appointment you had booked prior, you will be contacted directly via e-mail or phone. Once it is determined to be safe to re-open our doors and provide treatment, we will directly contact all of our patients who had cancelled appointments during this time.
It pains us to not be able to provide treatment and care to you during this time, but have made this difficult decision in light of the circumstances and to help bring quick resolution to the Covid-19 virus in Ontario. We appreciate your understanding. We will be monitoring our e-mail account and voicemail should you have any questions regarding the closure, or self-care practices you can employ in lieu of treatment at our clinic.
